Nirjher Chowdhury & Shithi Saha
Nirjher Chowdhury is a Bangladeshi singer. She is a Rabindra Sangeet singer. Shithi Saha(born 1988), is a Bangladeshi singer trained in four systems of music namely classical, modern, Tagore and folk. She was born to Shamir Saha a businessman and Shakti Saha a trained singer. Her brother Shantonu Saha is 8 years younger and plays the guitar and the tabla. She started her musical journey in Kushtia, Bangladesh at the age of 4. Initially she practiced music under the guidance of her mother and at the age of 5, she enrolled herself in the Bangladesh Shishu Academy. She was trained in folk songs till she was 6, and then she started practicing Rabindra sangeet also known as Tagore songs. She was also a member of Shilpakala Academy, Rabindra Sangeet Shommelon Parishad, and Chhayanot. She has won 4 National Awards in Rabindra Sangeet, Bangladesh. She won her first national award when she was 16. The song 'Boshe Boshe'won her the 6th Channel i Citycell Music Award. In 2005 Shithi Saha released her first album when she was 17. The album, named ‘Kichhu Bolbo Bole’ comprised of all Tagore songs and was released by Sound Touch. In 2009, she released her 2nd album ‘Kolpona’ under the banner of Laser Vision. This album was a duet album with Kazi Anan and arranged by Kazi Hablu. The album ‘Kolpona’, with 10 unique and fresh songs, got a good response among all her fans and listeners. Later, on the success of this album, she got extensive popularity and coverage in newspapers and TV channels in Bangladesh.
